Suum cuique pulchrum est

Suum cuique pulchrum est means 'to each his own is beautiful'.

When Indian Malaysian politicians have disputes, they talked it over in Chennai. This happened not once but on several occasions.

Chennai

Wikipedia says: Chennai, on the Bay of Bengal in eastern India, is the capital of the state of Tamil Nadu. The city is home to Fort St. George, built in 1644 and now a museum showcasing the city’s roots as a British military garrison and East India Company trading outpost, when it was called Madras.

Chennai - British designed, the best

Jolly good show, old chap, what a ripper Madras was, not the confound Chennai it has now become. Too many natives, I dare say.

When Malay Malaysian politicians (including Mahathir, Anwar, Azmin Ali, Nurul, Hadi Awang, other PAS leaders, etc) have disputes, they talked it over in London. This happened not once but on several occasions.

London

Jolly good show, old chap (or old girl), what a ripper London was and is, not the confound Kuala Lumpur, no, not since The Spotted Dog went to the ... er ... well ... dogs. Too many natives, I dare say.

When Chinese Malaysian politicians have disputes, they talked it over in Kuala Lumpur, wakakaka. This happened once only because after that the participants (including Lim Kit Siang) were ISA-ed by Mahathir and his police.

Non-Chinese swept up by Mahathir's Gestapo included Ibrahim Ali, wakakaka, and Chandra Muzzafar.

  1. There are talks that when Donald Trump have problems,he hustled his most trusted advisors,Steve Bannon,Rince Priebus and Jarod Kusher into the staff's bathroom and cuddled each other.

When he has disputes he hightail to his master in the Kremlin,a butcher name Putin. This cowardly pariah have single handedly shamed and brought the US to it's knees.

  2. Do I detect a tone of bitterness in your write up on the difference in treatment between relations with India and Indians , and Chinese and China ?
Its really a matter of different strokes for different folks.
There is no significant history of disloyalty among Malaysian Indians towards the country.
Chandra Bose's Indian National Army was an exception, but the matter was laid to rest after World War II, and especially after India's Independence in 1947. Ever since then, relations between Malaya/Malaysia and India have been warm, friendly and without any restrictions on travel and business by Malaysian Indians.

The Chinese are a totally different matter.
The Communist Party of Malaya was 95% Chinese, and they were a deadly threat to the country. Declassified British documents show that Malaya was facing defeat in 1948-1949. In hindsight, the Emergency was a near run thing and if things had turned out a bit differently, we could all be saluting a Red Flag today and singing The East is Red.
Add to that, long after the Emergency, in the 1950's - 1970's, China was still in the business of exporting its Communist ideology.
So , in all, for a long time until the late 1980's all business and personal contacts between Malaysian Chinese and China were severely restricted. And rightly so.

By the way, it was Mahathir who relaxed almost all the restrictions existing at the time.

    1. I agree with your opinion that Malays trust Indians more thus Indian Malaysian politicians, too wit, from the MIC, could gather in Chennai and talked out disputes among themselves with even the CM of Tamilnadu mediating. Indian politicians could receive awards from the President of India and glowed with pride.

But if MCA or Gerakan(let alone DAP) tried that in any of the China's (small or big ones) they would be labelled traitors.

Yet, it was the Chinese officers in SB who defeated the CPM. They were the brains, the intelligence without which the troops would have no eyes, ears and knowledge. More than a few SP's and PGB's were awarded by the Agong to the Chinese police and military personnel.

But the Chinese will never be accepted because of Malay suspicions and most of all, jealousy. The situation has been made worse by UMNO (especially during Mahathir's reign) indoctrinating Malays into hating Chinese. Mahathir's BTN lectured Malay civil servants etc into believing Chinese are like Jews (as told to us by Malay officers now in Pakatan)
